Although the Chinese government regards the policy as successful as it has “prevented an additional 400 million births” in the nation of 1.3 billion, a multitude of unforeseen issues have arisen over the thirty plus years the policy has been in place (Dvorsky).  Some of the main problems caused by the policy are listed below.
